New Convent - Croxteth, Liverpool

The new convent was built in the front garden of the existing, and the Sisters moved across prior to demolition. The brief was for the building to be designed as two pairs of semi-detached houses with a single storey link. This was in response to to a reduction in the number of Sisters, and with a view to partial sale of parts of the property if the numbers continue to decline. There are 12 bedrooms at first floor level (4 en-suite), with a guest bedroom/sickroom at ground floor level, together with all the usual communal rooms. The site has been extensively landscaped with a secure garden to the rear allowing privacy and security for the sisters. The project was completed in October 2001.
