Tate LRIBA. Architect 1966 - 1969
Started
from school as a trainee, and gained experience in all aspects of an Architects'
office - attended Wigan & Leigh College on a Day Release ONC Construction
Course.
Wigan
Metropolitan Borough Council - Architects Department 1969 - 1986
Moved
to gain a broader experience, and to take advantage of wider opportunities.
Worked on various schemes, usually under the supervision of an Architect
- continued to attend College on a day release basis, and obtained a HNC
in Construction in 1969. Decided to leave to pursue a course of full time
study in Architecture, but offered a sponsorship by the council. Continued
to work outside College term time and upon completion of the course in
1975 continue in full-time employment - take increasing responsibility
for new build and alteration schemes and after 17 years decided to take
a change of direction.
David
Mansfield Associates 1986 -1998
Joined
this small firm of surveyors as the only Architect and worked on a variety
of alteration and new build schemes mainly for Religious communities and
the Catholic Church - invited to become a Director of the firm after 12
months, and the Practice title changed to Architects and Surveyors. Continued
to be personally involved in a large number of schemes in Various Locations
including Dumbarton, Devon, Liverpool, Dublin, Tullamore, Limerick and
Tanzania.
Pye
Design 1998 - Present Day
Formed
a practice in April 1998 to provide a full Architectural Service on a
personal basis - continuing with similar type of work as previously on
a variety of schemes, including maintenance works.
