A practice formed in 1998, but with over 20 years post-qualification experience, to offer a personal and professional service in all aspects of building design and construction to a variety of clients We recognise that close and regular liaison with the client is very important at all stages of the process, and we never forget that:
Whilst we are able to offer services across the whole range of building types, we would highlight the following: Education We have been involved with a number of Educational projects over the years, including large scale alterations and additions to two schools in particular, involving sports facilities, general classrooms, laboratories, performing arts areas, libraries and the like. We are, therefore, familiar with the involvement of the DFEE and Local Education Authorities in these schemes and are able to liase as necessary to secure the relevant approvals and funding. In addition to large scale schemes we are well aware of the need for ongoing preventative maintenance, and are able to offer a service in that respect involving: Inspection; seeking approvals; obtaining tenders; supervising the works on site and finally obtaining the grants available. Religious We have been involved in a great many schemes for various Religious Orders and are conscious of the needs of these particular communities. The schemes carried out range from large-scale new build and/or refurbishment schemes to minor building repairs and maintenance. All are equally important to the individuals concerned. We are aware of the need for discretion. Health We have carried out numerous schemes in the field of Health Care, and are aware of the need for close consultations, not only with the Client, but also with Area Health Authorities, Social Services and the like. Schemes carried out range from large-scale new building and alteration works to small scale modifications carried out to make the building more usable for the Client. Maintenance We are aware of the need for regular maintenance of property. It has been stated that from the day of its completion the combined forces of nature are relentless in their pursuit of reducing the finished building to its basic constituents! We are able to advise on all aspects of property maintenance from 'one off' to regular inspections. We have invested in up-to-date technology to allow work to be carried out efficiently and promptly, and there is a determination to keep pace with progress in Information Technology as new hardware and software is developed. We are able to produce drawings utilising CAD (Computer Aided Design) and have the necessary software and hardware including an A1 colour plotter, colour scanner and the like. We are able to send and receive messages using both fax and E-mail and have purchased a CD copier to allow back-up copies of files and drawings to be easily stored and archived. On almost all schemes of any size we would recommend the involvement of other professional Consultants. For example: Structural Engineers; Quantity Surveyors; Service Engineers and the like. We are able to advise on the need for such involvement on particular schemes and suggest suitable professionals whom we would recommend. Whilst we do not wish to be involved in disputes regarding our involvement, competence and behaviour, we nevertheless carry full Professional Liability Insurance up to £500,000. This is, in fact, a requirement of the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) for all registered practices. We are on the RIBA Register of Planning Supervisors and are able to offer this service to clients in accordance with the CDM Regulations (Construction [Design and Management] Regulations 1994). |
